Colin Jelf # 4 - Colin started his racing career around 1980 in what is now known as GT15 (Juniors) class on the UK National Circuit. He progressed to Formula 4 in 1987 and in 1988 he set the World Speed Record for the class.
In 1992 he joined the Formula 2 class and in the same year won his first National title setting the course of his successful racing career. Colin made history in 2008 for being the first driver to ever achieve the triple F2 World Championship. He has also acheived two British Sprint Championships in a row in 2007 and 2008.
Colin is married to Jeni Jelf and they currently reside in Kent with their Son, Ben. Both Colin and Jeni, together with Ted run the family business – Hazel Motors also situated in Kent.
In 2010 Colin decided to retire from competitive racing to concentrate on his Son's racing career. For 2013 Colin will return to the F2 class where he will spend the season getting to grips with the new F2 Optimax engine.
Colin will also be contracted to the globally sucessful Peters & May Racing brand and will campaign under their banner for the season.
